IWAY Christmas Charity Bazaar 2024

The International Women’s Association of Yerevan (IWAY) hosted its 11th annual Christmas Bazaar, a charity fundraising event that had become a cherished holiday tradition. The event will took place on December 1, 2024, at the Marriott Armenia Hotel (1 Amiryan Street). The Bazaar brings together a wide range of participants, including diplomats and their spouses, public figures, members of the Armenian diaspora, and representatives from various business sectors. Proceeds from the event will fund grant programs aimed at improving the quality of life for women, children, and families in remote and border villages across Armenia, with a

focus on enhancing social infrastructure.

Victoria Kasabyan, IWAY President, highlighted the organization’s long-standing dedication to supporting Armenia’s border communities: “For over 12 years, the International Women’s Association of Yerevan has successfully organized Christmas Bazaars, enabling us to implement more than 30 impactful projects, largely benefiting women and children in Armenia’s border and remote regions”.

Rita Minassian, IWAY’s Event Director, noted a special highlight of this year’s event: “This year, we’ve invited non-governmental organizations dedicated to environmental protection, mindful living, and women’s rights. We also welcomed participation from embassies in Armenia, further enriching our annual charity event.”

Meanwhile, IWAY is nearing completion of a major school renovation project in Mets Parni, Lori Region. The school, which serves 250 students and employs 30 staff members, also accommodates families displaced from Artsakh. In collaboration with partner NGOs, IWAY is contributing to the renovation of a preschool in Chambarak, a border village in Gegharkunik, by providing beds and bedding for the young children.

Another significant accomplishment for IWAY is the restoration of the only school in Anipemza, a village near the Armenian-Turkish border. Over the past two years, IWAY has allocated more than $30,000 (11 million AMD) to replace the school’s roof and windows-a critical investment in this vulnerable community.
