Visit to Areguni on April 29th, Gegharkunik Province 2014-2015

On Monday, a group of us made the long trek out to Areguni village, on the eastern shore of Sevan Lake.

Areguni is a small village with a population of about 270 people, with a small school of about 55 students.

Areguni school is one of the 25 applicants for funding from IWAY, and they requested that we help renovate their cafeteria and kitchen.

After a visit to their premises, we decided that we would like to go ahead with the donation. We will request that they ask for permission to build a small addition to serve as a cafeteria /kitchen, and if not possible, we will fund the renovation as they requested, with an addition of a stove for cooking.

We will also request that they use the renovated room as a community room for other activities, after school hours, in order to get more use out of the room.

IWAY partially sponsored the renovation of the school canteen and equipped the kitchen with a new fridge.
