Location: Chambarak town, Gegharkuniq Region, Armenia
Target beneficiaries: 60 children
Funding: 2,610,000 AMD
Description: Chambarak, located 5 km from the Azeri border, has a population exceeding 5,500, including approximately 600 refugees from Artsakh who relocated in 2023. The town's existing kindergartens are insufficient to meet the educational and childcare demands of the growing community.
In 2016, the Knight of Vartan, in partnership with the Armenian Territorial Development Fund, renovated two buildings of Chambarak #3 Kindergarten. However, the third building remained in need of substantial refurbishment. In 2024, the Knights of Vartan, through the Republic of Armenia subsidy program, undertook the full renovation of the third building, thereby increasing capacity by an additional 60 children.
The renovation process included comprehensive structural and interior improvements to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment. While funding covered the renovation costs, additional resources were required for essential furnishings.
In 2024, IWAY funded the purchase of 60 beds, along with bedding, pillows, and mattresses.
The Armenian Schools Foundation also donated wardrobes, tables, and chairs to accommodate 60 children, as well as tables and chairs for teaching staff.
